Jan 13, 2005 · yellow discharge at 38 weeks I am 38 weeks, almost 39 and have been experiencing a yellow discharge for the last day and a half. There is no odor, nor any other coloration to it. I'm 40 +4 days pregnant and I get the same snot/mucous (which is yellow) and it comes out daily now. Good news - it's your mucous plug. It will grow back if the baby isn't ready yet and that means it will come out again. I saw my first at 38 weeks pregnant which means it can come out 2 weeks and 4 days before giving birth. If, before your pregnancy is 37 weeks old, you notice an increase in the amount of the discharge as it could be preterm labor. The yellow discharge has a frothy look and an unpleasant smell. The discharge you have has a fishy smell to it. This could mean that you have bacterial vaginosis.
